Book Launches

We have a number of great books being launched at Fantasticon this year, with readings, signings and Q&A panels.

Kate Russell

Kate Russell has been writing about technology, gaming and the Internet since 1995 and now appears weekly on BBC2 and BBC World News, reporting for technology programme Click. A regular expert on the sofa at ITV’s Daybreak and various other TV and radio stations, she writes columns for National Geographic Traveller magazine and Web User magazine.

Kate launched her first novel, Mostly Harmless, at the first FantastiCon in 2014, an event at which she was also MC Extraordinaire! This year she launches her first young adult novel, A Bookkeeper's Guide to Practical Sorcery.

Drew Wagar

Drew Wagar, author of FBP bestseller Elite: Reclamation released the first in his hard science fiction series, the Shadeward Saga - Shadeward: Emanation at last year's event. Now he's back to launch part two Shadeward: Exoneration!

Simon Fisher-Becker

Simon Fisher-Becker launches his much anticipated autobiography My Dalek has a Puncture and will also be performing his one man show live at the convention (for no extra cost to ticket holders)!

Simon has been in countless film and TV projects including Dr Who (Dorium maldovar) Harry Potter (The Fat Friar)

Stuart Aken

Epic fantasy author behind the 'A Seared Sky' trilogy, which was release over the last two FantastiCons, also launched the beautiful hardback version of his short, dystopian science fiction thriller The Methuselah Strain at last year's event. Stuart is one of our most prolific authors and there could be a surprise to come from him at this year's event.

Chris Dows

Chris Dows is a giant of the comic fiction world. From 2000AD to Warhammer 40k, Chris has had hundreds of publications across the industry.

When Manga giant TokyoPop ventured into Star Trek, one of Chris' stories was published in their first anthology.

Chris has been involved with Star Trek for over 20 years and has written for the Deep Space Nine Comic book and has been instrumental in the creation of the Official Star Trek Fact Files.
